1969 – Polk Fire company is started. They had one truck that was stationed in a garage bay at the Jonas Hotel. This truck had been donated by Towamensing Volunteer Fire Company. A 1954 GMC was also purchased from Quarryville. .

1971 – Current fire House is constructed.Kitchen equipment was donated by J.J. Newberry for the auxiliary to help raise funds

1972 – Fire company buys first new turnout gear and air packs.

1972 – First bingo held as fundraiser

1973 – First New truck ordered from American LaFrance.

1997 – Current Substation was dedicated and put into service.
